"Honestly, the shoot was such a blast. Having the chance to meet someone who has dedicated their lives to celebrate other women, who compassionately makes everyone feel their best, is just amazingly touching. When I saw my images I wanted to cry because they were so beautiful, I looked beautiful, and there was something there that I had lost touch with. Also, knowing that I did something that I was terrified to do and it turned out to be one of the best experiences of my life.
I would absolutely recommend this shoot to every woman I come in contact with. It is liberating, fun, inspirational, and beautiful on so many levels. I think every woman should have an album of herself like this at home. "Melissa is a sweetheart who will make you feel extremely comfortable and relaxed from the moment you walk through the door. While the makeup artist was working her magic, the three of us chatted. That fun, friendly vibe was the atmosphere for the whole session. I was excited to try my first attempt at modeling, but I was still a little nervous once the time came to actually begin posing. Practicing at home in my room was not quite the same as actually having a camera in front of me! Luckily Melissa was really helpful with giving tips for poses and working your face. Throughout the session, she was very conscientious of my comfort and privacy and obviously wanted to make sure I was having fun."
"Going into this photo shoot had me nervous, excited and...nervous! I didn't know how I was going to feel once a stranger started snapping pictures of me in my unmentionables. Upon meeting Melissa, my anxieties had gone out the window; with her warmth and engaging energy she welcomed me into her studio as if she's known me forever.
I'd so do this again in a heartbeat. Melissa expertly guided me through posing, played my favorite music, all while we laughed and joked around. It was awesome having my hair and makeup done before the session! I felt like a total Glam Goddess. I've even tried to replicate the look for a night out!
This experience resulted in many things: beautiful photos that I will treasure for the rest of my years, an appreciation of my own unique beauty, and being proud that the woman in the photos was, in fact, me. “For me, this experience was all about letting myself express and take ownership of my own unique and inherent beauty, from the inside out. It took courage, and I was more nervous than I expected, but Melissa helped me embrace the photo session as an adventure rather than a scary undertaking. "The way this shoot has affected me is really profound. Melissa is such an artist and she knows how to pose you to flatter your curves and highlight your lines and shadows. Looking at the pictures, I see myself and my body differently. I went through my photos and picked my favorites. Then I showed my husband, and he had different favorites. He explained to me why he liked the ones he liked. The facial expressions that looked silly or drunk to me looked "relaxed and happy" to him. I feel so empowered with what I've accomplished physically, but I also like how I feel inside this time. A buddhist teacher told me last night that we "aim to keep joy stable in our hearts." This photo shoot has given me a lot of joy in my heart."
